i hate people

i answered more than probably 70 phone calls from people today FREAKING out because they heard a rumor that gas stations were shutting down at 4, that they were rationing gas, that they were running out completely....all of which were false. but what do all these people do anyways??? run to the pump, sit in line for HOURS and wait to get gas. ARE YOU STUPID?!?! and then they call AGAIN to say that prices are going through the roof as they sit there and wait. DUHHH! it's simple economics....if there's a massive demand, they can charge whatever they want, because obviously you fuckwits are going to pay it. i've never hated the whole of humanity more than i did today...i've also never wanted to slam a phone into the desk repeatedly with someone on the other end more than i did today. trust me, unless you work in a news organization, you have NO idea what i went through. people are morons. and now that there will be a gas shortage...they're to blame. because, HELLO!! if you hadn't all rushed the stations today and just acted like normal human beings instead of fuel-hungry psychopaths...we'd be fine. yes, there's a major pipeline from miss. to atlanta that's not operational at the moment...but it should be fine by this weekend. so all you need is enough gas to get you through like 3 days....not tanks and tanks, hoarding it like it's a damn cure for cancer! it has been absolutely ridiculous. k, rant over...i'm too wiped to do much more anyways.

although, this was the funniest part of today:
cory: i just got a call, there's a guy down at the riverwalk, says the chattahoochee is boiling, running with bloood.
me: it doesn't matter, there's no gas!!!
(yeah, we got a little delirious about it after awhile)
